Founded in 2008 in Ottawa, DKM Studios was born out of the love of making music. Canada is home to some of the world’s most diverse and vibrant music, so it’s fitting that Canada’s Capital provides a cross section of styles and genres representative of the talent found from coast to coast. As the owner of DKM Studios, I feel there is as much artistry that goes into recording and mastering music as there is in writing a great song, and I’m proud to be able to help artists in the Ottawa area bring their work to life. I began writing and recording music over 20 years ago, and I have as much passion for it today as I did the first time I picked up a cassette 4 track to record my first piece of music.
The technology of recording music has changed over the years. Not long ago, the only way to achieve a polished sound was to invest in enormous mixing consoles and racks of prohibitively expensive gear. With today’s technology, professional audio recording and mastering can be achieved with a selection of hardware and software that can be transported, deployed, and run by one engineer.
